Hello! Here is a video from this morning of the basement (toy room, kids TV room, Ed's office and Marisa's bedroom/bath). We spent over an hour cleaning and sorting toys, putting up another shelf and arranging things for the boys. They spent most of the day down there playing in their Thomas tent and 'cooking' in their kitchen. That left us time to actually get more stuff unpacked upstairs and in the office. There is still more to go through but we are finally making some headway with it all. I actually hung 2 pictures in the family room this afternoon so there is definite progress. Now I just have to decide where to put the rest of them. Ugh!

Here is a video I took today. There is still a lot to be done in the house but we are getting there.

First pics after we moved in

Here are some pictures I took this morning of some of the rooms. We have not gotten everything here yet so some rooms like kinda empty. I did not take any pictures in the basement yet, it's very messy down there right now but I will get some later after we get it cleaned up. We still have a lot to move over from the garage, house and attic and even more to unpack still. Edward is also upgrading all electrical outlets and light switches which takes a bit of time. It's also been snowing for 2 days now. It either rains or snows when we move and this time it did both, rained Sunday and snowed Monday and Tuesday so far.

We finally finished painting the house today around 5 pm. We are both exhausted. Lucky for us school was canceled today and the girls were able to stay home with the boys or we would not have gotten done till much later. After we finished painting we picked up the kids, grabbed something to eat and went back to the house to get it cleaned up for the carpet/floor cleaners in the morning. Ed put up blinds and put some of the shelves and things back in the closets but there is still quite a bit to be done. Hopefully the floors are clean by 5 pm tomorrow and all dry by 7 pm so we can start taking our stuff over. This has been a long 5 days for sure.

Here are some pictures Marisa took the first day. They are not very good but it's all the before pictures we have. There are no pictures of the family room with the fire place, Ed's office or of the 1/2 bath on the main floor. I will post after pictures of those along with the other rooms next week sometime. So far we have painted the entire basement area, most of the main floor and all 10 closets. We are both exhausted but hopeful we will get all the painting done by noon Friday. The carpet/tile will be cleaned Saturday morning/afternoon so we have to have it done by then. So far we are very happy with the house although there are things we will be changing in the near future-like the appliances.

Today at the store

Edward and Ethan got to see inside a real fire truck this morning at Scott's grocery store. They were so excited! The fireman's name was Jeff and he put them inside the truck and talked with them about different things. When it was time to go he let them each pick a beanie baby and Edward picked a penguin while Ethan picked a green bear. It was an awesome experience for them!

I have decided to use this blog to keep everyone up to date with what is going on with our family.

Right now the biggest thing going on is that we are buying a new house and will be closing on it January 18, 2010. Ed and I will spend the first week painting and cleaning so we can move in the following weekend. We are very excited about this upcoming change. :)
