Two mini van family

Ed and I really don't like buying cars. We don't like it so much that we will drive a car until it is dying in the driveway (hopefully the driveway, not the street!). Just a month after we got married in 1999 my car decided to die (it was a 1988 Corsica). It had gone though a lot and I had already dropped too much money into it and it was no longer worth it so I took it and traded it in on a 1999 Ford Taurus. I loved that car and I bought it all by myself (Ed only had to sign the papers cause I needed his income for the loan-LOL). In 2001 we realized that having 5 kids and 2 dogs we really needed something larger than the Taurus or his icky Dodge Neon so we took the Neon and traded it in on a 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan. Ed got the Taurus and I got the new van. Fast forward to 2010. Yes, they are both still around but the Taurus is dying a slow, painful death every time anyone drives it. Poor thing lost 2 cylinders and has no heat so we finally decided to trade it in and get something new. As of this afternoon we are now the proud owners of a 2011 Toyota Sienna. I have to say that I wasn't even planning on looking at Toyota when we went van shopping but I am glad Ed talked me into it because I LOVE IT!!! Here is a pic.

I am so excited to have remote control doors on this van! It is so hard to put a key in the lock while trying to hold onto twin boys on ice or in the snow. This van is going to make my life easier for sure! It is so comfortable and roomier than our other van. We are already planning a day trip to Michigan to shop at IKEA and I can't wait to see how much we can fit in here! lol

I am hoping that we don't wait longer than we should to get our next new vehicle. I am sure next time we will buy something for Ed and not another mini van. :) But for right now we are a 2 mini van family.
