It’s been a while. Here’s what we have been up to.
Marisa had surgery and an ER trip post surgery due to bleeding (which I posted about on Easter).
Jessica had a birthday.
It has rained and rained.
The stairs and entry are just about done.
My house looks like a hurricane blew through it.
We have been purging and getting ready for our neighborhood garage sale in a few weeks (garage is full).
Plus we have been making trips to Indianapolis to the Autism Center at Riley for the boys. Officially Ethan has been diagnosed as PDD-NOS (mild Autism) and Edward has been diagnosed with ADHD so we only have one on the Spectrum. We are looking for therapists locally because the trip is long and hard on all of us plus the cost of gas isn’t going down.
We have decided that the kids TV room in the basement is no longer necessary and we are turning it into a workout room. We pay a YMCA membership fee every month but that money could be better spent on our own equipment (and a new TV to hang on the wall) so we can use it anytime we want and not have to worry about whether or not child watch is open. I will post that when we get it done.
We made a decision about the countertops for the kitchen. Since we can’t afford new cabinets we will paint the ones we have (going to add a couple) and put in our own countertops. I would love granite or solid surface but just can’t afford that right now and after weighing our options it’s IKEA to the rescue.
I make no promises on WHEN this will happen but it’s been planned so now all we need is the funds for it.
I have decided to take a break from painting for a few weeks. I want to work on other things and I want to live in my house like a normal person for a while, not a construction zone. Once I get back to work my next project is supposed to be our dining room furniture. I found a hutch for our buffet but it REALLY needs work plus all of our furniture is that orangey oak that you know I LOVE loathe. I will be staining and painting it all! I tell ya, NOTHING is safe in this house from paint. I will paint JUST ABOUT ANYTHING!!! LOL (kids, animals be warned…JK
).
I also need to find a paint color for our family room which I will probably use in our dining room as well. I am wanting a white. I like the look of the BM Calm so I plan to grab a sample of that and try it out. I don’t want it to be TOO white though cause I don’t want it to blend with the trim. Any suggestions?
Did I tell ya we now have resident rodents? I agreed to allow the girls to have 3 hamsters. Marisa’s mated. Wonderful. She had 6 babies. We took the male out but it was too late, he got her again and she just had 7 more. Anyone want a free hamster? We have only gotten rid of 2 so far and Jess is keeping 1 so we have 3 from the first litter ready to go then in a few weeks we will have 7 more to go. My limit is 4 hamsters, all with their own cages of course so I really need to find homes for the rest. Ugh.
Oh and I am going to open an etsy shop. I don’t know when exactly but hopefully soon.
That’s all for now. If you actually made it down to this point THANKS FOR READING! lol I can go on and on sometimes.
I will post the stairs and B&B soon. Promise.
Have a great day!
Wow that is quite the breath full of words. You have soooo much going on, how do you do it all. I hope Marisa is doing well. Have a good week.
