Did some painting today...

It was nice out today so I decided to paint some of the hemp balls. I didn't have brown so I will have to pick some up later but the green matched the window panels perfectly. I painted one black just for the heck of it. I also want to find a wire basket or a wooden bowl to put them in, not fond of them this way. I also painted some silver trays black but I am not sure that I will keep them black but I might. Never can tell with me. I plan to hang them on the wall when I am done with them. I also painted the hemp egg I did in a different color green. It's okay but I think it will turn out better with foam eggs.

I am currently trying to find thrift stores that I can go to looking for stuff I can re-purpose. I am also making plans to improve upon things we currently have here. The towel bars in the kids bath are really sturdy but the finish is not in good shape so I am going to sand them where needed, prime then paint with white enamel. I will also do the light fixtures and seeing that enamel takes longer to get just right I will only do one fixture at a time. This house has a mixture of gold and sliver and I hate it. The bath light fixtures are both gold and silver along with all towels bars and tp holders. It's not pretty. The knobs on all drawers and cabinets are gold (ick) so I will be painting those to match the decor of the room. I looked at replacing them and I can't justify the cost. One knob is the cost of a can of spray paint. Even if I use 2 or 3 cans it's still a lot cheaper.

I have decided to do our bathroom in shells. I have some wonderful ideas for decor but it will take me a while to get it done. I did fill a jar with shells I found on sale at Michael's . I will probably go back and look at shells next week cause I have a 50% off coupon on any one item. I still need a couple of star fish for what I want to do.

I found a nice wooden word sign at Gordman's this week too. I went in looking for a giraffe the girls had seen a couple months ago (1/2 bath is jungle theme) but did not find it. I did find an elephant clock (not going to use the clock) though. I think this sign looks really good on the mantle.

Last night we started our summer "hours" so the boys were not put in bed until 8 pm. They were up at 7:15 am today and I figured they would be tired. Edward fell asleep in Jessica's room while Ethan was at school. Ethan came home from school (he had a good day) and played out back for a little while but I could tell he was tired. He came in and was playing around at the kitchen table when he fell and hit his chin on a chair and bit his tongue. Poor guy is so accident prone. I don't have pics of his chin yet but here is a pic of him napping. He made Marisa carry him up to his bed, he rarely falls asleep anywhere else.
