Last day of Preschool

I had wanted to post these pics yesterday but we were very busy all day and then we had horrible storms that dumped a lot of rain on us. Ed and I went out to run our last errand after dinner (when we thought the worst of the rain was done) and after not finding what we needed at Lowe's (not the first time, won't go there for much anymore) ended up having to go to Menard's. Most of you have no idea what that is but it's kinda like Lowe's but better. Lowe's seem to have a lot of decoration type stuff where Menard's is a hardware/lumber store with some other stuff thrown in (we now get our mulch there too). Anyway....we went to Menard's to get our lumber for the Farmhouse bed frame and the Tryed coffee table and about 20 minutes after we got there the sky opened up. It was pouring. We finished shopping and right as we went to leave it let up, but not much. Since most of you have no idea what it's like around here when it rains I will tell ya. It floods. I mean IT FLOODS. I was afraid we would not get home. If it weren't for all the construction our best route home would have been quite easy with little or no flooding but since that has been taken out we had to choose which alternative to take. We know some of the roads flood in the lightest rain so we took our best guess and took the interstate and came home through the housing addition we used to live in. That was SCARY. I had never seen the creek overflow like that. They redid the road that goes over the creek last year so they could revamp the drainage system. Apparently that did not help last night. We hit 2 spots, 1 at the creek and 1 in a low lying area, that were flooded and I prayed as we went through. I was so relieved when we finally got home. Ed unloaded the wet wood so it would dry out and so the van could dry out as well then he changed clothes for the second time due to being drenched in one day. By this time I was tired and just wanted to veg out in front of the TV for a while then go to sleep. We sat down and watched "Men Who Stare at Goats". I don't recommend it BTW. It was weird and knowing what parts of it are probably based on reality makes me even less confident in our government and the decisions they make. I already feel our country is run by greedy idiots and this movie did not help the idiot part. LOL

Okay, so now that I have gone on forever here are the pictures from the last day of school. :)

You can probably tell the boys hair has not been brushed. I let Ed get them ready for school yesterday. I was trying to keep them on track and after they were dressed told them to go brush their teeth. I then headed downstairs to do some laundry before we left and THOUGHT Ed would realize (since he had been taking care of them since they got up) that they had not brushed their hair either. When we got to school I looked at Edwards hair and ask if he had his hair brushed, which you could tell he had not, and he said no. I looked at Ed and he got this funny look on his face and said to me "you only said to brush their teeth". WOW. LOL Dude needs to get a grip. :) Maybe I need to make a list of things like that he can follow in case something happens to me. WOW....
