A few months ago while surfing through blogs I saw a sign or poster of some kind that had the definition of play on it. I thought it was a very cute idea and wanted to put the definition in the playroom. I was actually going to stencil it on the wall and even made the stencil using Word and an exacto knife but never got around to painting it. I wasn’t really happy with the stencil.
Last week I got a Cricut and my husband suggested making it into a sign instead of stenciling it on the wall. Smart man.
So I got a board from garage that I had already painted black for another project I never did, cut out a new stencil with my Cricut and stenciled it on the board in white. I also added an arrow to the bottom which will point to the playroom.
Edward cut the frame for me out of a 1 x 2 and I painted it red with craft paint.
After the paint was dry he used his nail gun to nail the frame on. I am still not comfortable with the nail gun so I get him to do the nailing.
It’s great to have art work for the play room and kids TV room that the boys can’t destroy.
I hope everyone has a great weekend!
I am partying here:

Love the definition you made up. :) It turned out great! Thank you for sharing and linking. :)
ReplyDeleteVery cute idea, and love the red frame. I'm still a little wary of the staple gun, so I would make my husband use the nail gun too! :-) Thanks for linking up!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking to my party on Sunday. I love the sign you made, I'll be highlighting it on Sunday. I'll hope you'll stop back and show off your next project. Take care!
ReplyDeleteI love it! What a great definition. You could put this sign right next to it:
ReplyDeleteBoy n. A noise with dirt on it.
(I love that one too...but not as encouraging).
