Weekend list-Kids bathroom

Saturday was a busy day at our house. I asked Edward to get the beadboard and trim put up in the kids bathroom first so I could paint it. I have to say that I REALLY like how it turned out and no more ugly, falling down towel bars.

We started with 8’ x 4’ sheets of beadboard from Lowe’s. Ed cut them down to 4’ x 4’ pieces. Placing the 4 ft high piece on top of the floor molding made it the perfect height.

Quick story: Marisa’s boyfriend (younger male person in picture above) was helping Edward out this weekend. They were using blue painters tape to mark the studs and Kyle (the boyfriend) decided to show us how the stud finder goes off when he places it on any part of his body. My hilarious husband decided that he would put blue tape on each of them to mark themselves as “studs”. The two of them thought they were so cute. Of course us females just rolled our eyes and moved on but for the rest of the day we had to hear about them being “studs”. Eye rolling smile

Anyway….

Edward put liquid nails on the back of the beadboard and set it on the wall then nailed it in. After the beadboard was up he added a 1” x 4” piece of wood across the top then a 1” x 2” on top of that like this.

Afterwards he caulked it and once the caulk set I was able to get in there and do my part-paint. I painted everything the same white gloss I painted the trim, door and cabinets a couple of weeks ago. You can see those posts here and here. Today we added the hooks and that part is done.

We are one step closer to this bathroom being done. Next up is to put a recessed light over the tub and to replace the builders mirror with 2 separate mirrors.

Oh yeah, Edward also added crown molding but that’s for another post! Smile

Come back tomorrow and I'll show you what I have done with our stair railings.

Have a great Monday y’all!
